Cartier doesn't use standard widths

That's why we list Cartier by model rather than by millimetre. A Tank Must is 16mm, 19mm or 23mm depending on the size; a Santos Dumont is 15.5mm, 17.8mm or 19mm; a Santos 100 XL Chronograph is 24.5mm. The Santos de Cartier and the Pasha use Cartier's QuickSwitch attachment, and the Santos Dumont takes an integrated strap that follows the case. Cartier renamed several sizes in 2025 — the Tank Louis “Medium” is the model that was called “Large” before then, and the new 38.1mm automatic Large uses a different width again. If you're unsure, send us your reference number and we'll confirm the fit before we cut.

  • Integrated (Santos Dumont) — the strap is part of the case line rather than a band bolted onto it. We cut it to follow the case, in the 15.5mm, 17.8mm or 19mm your size takes.
  • Reuse your Cartier deployant — keep the signed folding clasp on the watch. Pick “use your own buckle” and send a photo, and we punch the strap to fit it. If you'd rather add one, we sell a premium folding clasp.
  • Vintage and inherited Cartier — older Tanks and Santos cases often need a strap that tucks under the case rather than sitting flat against it. Send a photo and we'll tell you whether yours needs a notched strap.
  • Small wrists — short lengths from 55/100mm for wrists down to 5.0", which most Tank owners need and most makers don't offer.

Which leather suits your Cartier

A Cartier is a dress watch first, so the leather should be fine-grained rather than bold: crocodile and lizard for the classic look, shell cordovan for depth and shine, Epsom for a clean matte finish. All cut slim, so the strap sits flush under a thin case rather than lifting it off the wrist.
