1. Find your watch's lug width
The lug width is the gap between the two lugs where the strap attaches. On this watch it follows the case size: 14mm — Small (24mm case); 18mm — Large (29mm case); 20mm — XL (32mm case). Pick your size in the Model list below and the width is handled for you.
If your watch isn't listed: measure the gap with a millimetre ruler, or the existing strap's width where it meets the watch, to the half millimetre. Don't round — some sizes differ by less than 2mm. Then contact us before you order with that measurement, your reference and a side-profile photo, and we'll confirm the fit.
2. Measure your wrist
Wrap a piece of string, ribbon, or paper strip around your wrist where the watch sits. Mark where the end overlaps. Lay it flat and measure the marked length in cm or inches.
Tip: Measure with a comfortable fit — not too tight. The strap will sit at this length, with the buckle on the underside of your wrist.
3. Find your strap length
Choose the wrist-size range you measured in step 2 from the Wrist size dropdown; we make the strap for that range, your case size and your buckle or clasp. If your wrist is under 5 inches, or you already know the strap lengths you want, choose Custom - specify in Note and write your wrist measurement (cm or inches), or both strap lengths in mm (buckle end / tail end, leather only, measured from the watch end), in the Note box.
Photos show the strap in black Swift. The other leathers are mock-up previews: grain, shade and thread color are approximate, and every hide varies. Stitching is Matching unless you pick another color under “Yes, customize”.
Measure where you actually wear the watch. Know the exact strap length you want? Choose “Custom - specify in Note” at the bottom of this list and write the length in the Note box below.

We need this to size the bund pad correctly. Measure the watch case from edge to edge (not including the crown).
We do our best to match the thread to your leather, but exact matches aren't always possible — natural variations in leather and thread dye lots mean the result may be very close, not 100% identical.
Custom size selected — please give your wrist measurement (cm or inches), or both strap lengths in mm (e.g. 110/175 mm = 110mm buckle end / 175mm tail end, leather only).

Your Cartier clasp
Will this strap work with my original Cartier deployant (folding) clasp?
Yes, if it's a Cartier deployant made for a leather strap: we cut both strap ends to the clasp width you select, so you keep the clasp you already own. Most aftermarket straps ship with a pin buckle that orphans your Cartier deployant; we don't. Choose “I'll use my own buckle/clasp” in the configurator, measure the inside width of your clasp where the strap attaches, and select it under Buckle-end width (mm). For listed Santos Galbée references we pre-fill the usual width as a starting point. Upload a photo of your clasp too; if you're unsure of the width, say so in the Note and we'll confirm it with you before production. A folding clasp built into a metal bracelet can't be moved to a leather strap; if that's what your watch came with, choose one of our Cartier-style deployants or a pin buckle.
What if I don't have the Cartier deployant, or want a spare?
We can source a Cartier-style deployant clasp for you — pick one of the Cartier-style deployant options under Choose a buckle (Gold, Steel or Rose gold; the price is shown on each option). They aren't made in every clasp width, so they only appear for the sizes they fit; for other sizes, choose one of our pin buckles or use your own clasp. You can also choose a standard pin buckle on any size if you prefer a traditional buckle-and-tang strap.
Reference & fit
How do I know which Santos Galbée reference and lug width I have?
Santos Galbée sizes and lug widths: 14mm — Small (24mm case); 18mm — Large (29mm case); 20mm — XL (32mm case). The reference number is usually engraved on the case back. Just pick your size in the configurator. Vintage or unlisted Santos Galbée references vary — please contact us before you order with your reference, a case-back photo and a side-profile photo showing the lug-to-case joint, and we'll confirm the fit.
Does the strap use Cartier's quick-release system?
The Santos Galbée uses standard spring bars — our straps ship with the correct spring bars for your reference and install with a normal spring-bar tool. If you're unsure of your reference, send us a side-profile photo and we'll fit the correct bars.
I have a vintage or unlisted Cartier reference — how do I order?
Please contact us before you order. Email us your reference, a side-profile photo of your watch showing the lug-to-case joint, and the case-back if the reference is printed there. We confirm the fit with you within one business day and tell you which Model option to choose. When you order, if you're using your own buckle or clasp, choose “I'll use my own buckle/clasp”, upload a photo under Buckle photo and pick the width under Buckle-end width (mm).
My wrist is larger or smaller than standard — can you accommodate?
Yes. Every strap is made to order. Standard options cover wrist ranges from 5.0 to 8.5 inches at no extra charge; extra-long options go up to 12 inches for the surcharge shown in the Wrist size list. Long-wrist Santos Galbée owners are a size Cartier's own straps don't offer. Choose your wrist range and we make the strap for that range, your case size and your buckle or clasp. For a wrist under 5 inches, or if you already know the strap lengths you want, choose “Custom - specify in Note” and write your wrist measurement (cm or inches), or both strap lengths in mm (buckle end / tail end, leather only, measured from the watch end), in the Note box.
Order & policy
How long from order to arrival?
Production takes 3–5 business days in our workshop. For Canada and the US, allow two to three weeks from order to arrival with standard shipping; priority shipping is available at checkout. Other countries can take longer depending on the destination, and checkout shows an estimated delivery time for your address. We're a Canadian company and ship worldwide.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds for preference returns of made-to-order leather straps. If your strap has a manufacturing defect or we made it differently from the agreed specifications, we will remake it. If we confirmed the fit with you in writing and the strap does not fit because of our fitment error, we will remake it. Custom-made leather strap for the Cartier Santos Galbée. Where it meets the case, each strap end is built around a stainless-steel insert with the leather wrapped over it, shaped to sit in the Galbée's lug opening where the bracelet's end link goes. It mounts on normal spring bars through the insert. We include a pair, but we recommend reusing your watch's original spring bars. Choose your leather: black Swift as pictured, shell cordovan, crocodile, lizard and sharkskin, or Barenia, Epsom, Buttero and Alran goat. The price updates with the leather you pick. On the Galbée the folding clasp is part of the metal bracelet, so pair the strap with one of our Cartier-style deployants or pin buckles, or with a Cartier leather-strap deployant you already own. The watch isn't included. Made to order: allow 2–3 weeks from order to delivery in Canada and the US; other countries can take longer, and checkout shows an estimate for your address.
