Frequently asked questions
Is this real lizard leather?
Yes. Every strap is cut from genuine lizard hide. The small, regular scale pattern and supple drape come from the actual reptile leather — not embossed cowhide.
How is lizard different from crocodile or stingray?
Lizard scales are small and regular (think a fine pebble texture); crocodile scales are larger and more varied; stingray has a pebble pattern with a center 'diamond.' Lizard reads as the dressiest of the three — best paired with formal dial-on-leather watches.
What watch styles pair best with lizard?
Classic dress watches with smaller cases (under 40mm) sit especially well on lizard. Cartier Tank, Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, Longines La Grande Classique, Grand Seiko dress models. Lizard works less well with sport watches or thick divers — stingray, crocodile, or shark skin tend to suit those better.
How do I care for a lizard leather strap?
Wipe with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth after wear. Avoid prolonged water exposure and harsh cleaners. Lizard's small scales don't hide oil/wear marks as well as crocodile, so daily wear with clean wrists is your friend.
What lug widths and strap lengths are available?
Any lug width from 8mm to 30mm in 1mm increments, and lengths from short (5.0" wrist) through extra-long (12" wrist). Use the Lug Width Finder if you don't know your watch's lug width, and the Bespoke Fit Calculator to dial in the strap length.
