Oxblood crocodile watch strap for Corum $20 Gold Coin watch, no stitching

Oxblood Crocodile Strap for the Corum Coin Watch

The Corum $20 Gold Coin watch is exactly what it sounds like: a genuine Double Eagle coin sliced into an ultra-thin case. Nothing off the shelf suits it, because the watch is thin, the lugs are narrow, and anything padded or heavily stitched fights the look. This build is a crocodile strap for the Corum Coin watch in oxblood, cut flat and unstitched to keep the profile low.

Why these choices

A coin watch is defined by how thin it is, so the strap has to disappear under the case rather than bulk it up. That is why this one is flat and unpadded with no stitching — a clean band of leather that lets the polished gold read as the whole watch. A padded, top-stitched strap would have looked like it belonged on a different, sportier piece.

Oxblood was the color call. Against yellow gold, a deep red-brown is warmer and less expected than black, and full-grain crocodile brings a fine scale texture that suits a dress piece while softening and taking on a hand-rubbed patina over time.

The narrow 14 mm buckle width keeps the hardware in scale with the small case, and because the order was built to the owner's own buckle it ships without one. This is the kind of watch the factory never made a modern strap for, which is precisely where a made-to-order band earns its keep. “I have a 1964 Rolex Oyster Date for which Rolex no longer makes a leather strap… replacements are hard to find… like many high quality, customized products, these are worth the wait.”

Questions buyers ask

What kind of strap fits the Corum Coin watch?
A crocodile strap for the Corum Coin watch cut to your exact lug width, kept flat and slim so it does not add height to a thin case. Measure the lug gap in millimeters and we build to it.

Why no stitching or padding?
Both add bulk and visual weight. On an ultra-thin coin watch, an unstitched, flat strap keeps the profile low and the look clean, letting the gold case stay the focus.

Have an unusual watch the factory forgot? Order an oxblood crocodile strap to your measurements and allow about 2–3 weeks from build to delivery.
