Small watches and large wrists are a combination the industry mostly ignores. A ladies' dress watch is sold with a strap sized for the wrist the marketing department imagined, and if yours is bigger, the buckle runs out of holes. Why these choices

Most makers stop at 8.5 in of wrist. Our extra-long builds run to 12 in, and 90/145 mm sits comfortably inside that range — 235 mm of total strap where a stock ladies' strap might give you 170 mm. That is the whole reason this order exists, and it is not an exotic request: plenty of people with larger wrists want a small, elegant watch and are told, in effect, that they cannot have one.

The proportion problem is the interesting part of building it. Simply making a narrow strap longer produces something that looks like a belt offcut. The fix is to keep the strap slim and let the length do its job quietly, tapering to a 14 mm buckle so the visual weight stays at the case end rather than trailing down the wrist. On a small automatic that reads as intentional rather than adapted.

Maya is a good match for the job. It is a dyed-through matte Italian veg-tan, so the color runs all the way through the leather rather than sitting on the surface — which means that when a longer strap flexes more, and it does, the wear shows as character instead of as a pale line. Whisky is a warm mid-tan with natural color variation from hide to hide, so no two straps come out identical.

Quick-release bars were specified, which is the sensible choice on a watch small enough that fitting a springbar tool between the lugs is genuinely fiddly.
