Why these choices
Curved end, not integrated. A curved-end strap is for watches with curved lugs. The end of the strap is cut on an arc so it follows the curve of the case instead of stopping short of it. That is different from an integrated strap, which is shaped around one specific case design. We ship curved spring bars in the chosen size, but we recommend fitting the strap with the watch's original spring bars, since they are made for that case. Regular spring bars here means tool-removal bars rather than quick-release, so the strap stays put once it is on.
Black crocodile for a dress watch. The Classima is a dress watch, and black crocodile is the most conservative way to keep it that way. Crocodile and alligator are industry synonyms for the same hide family; it softens with wear and takes on a hand-rubbed patina over time. A black strap also lets the gold buckle do the accent work without competing with the dial.
Length and proportion. At 70mm on the buckle side and 115mm on the tail side, the strap runs 185mm (7.28") end to end. On a slim dress watch, a long tail flapping past the keeper spoils the line, so it is worth sizing down when the wrist allows. The 16mm buckle width keeps the hardware in proportion with the case.
