Corner-Notched Strap for Krieger Tidal Chronoscope
Share
A Krieger Tidal Chronoscope owner in Texas wanted a strap that fills the full width of the case, not a narrower band sitting in the lug gap. The answer was a corner-notched strap: 25mm (0.98") wide where it meets the case, with the corners cut away so a 20mm (0.79") tongue drops between the lugs. The owner chose blue stingray and is reusing the original Krieger buckle and spring bars.
Here are the exact measurements we cut to, and why each one matters.

| C (notch depth) | 7mm (0.28") |
| Strap length | 85/135mm (3.35"/5.31") |
| Taper | To 22mm (0.87") at the buckle end |

| Buckle and spring bars | Customer's own Krieger buckle and spring bars |
Why these choices

On a corner-notched strap, three numbers do the work. A is the full width of the strap end where it meets the case. B is the width of the tongue, the narrower tab that sits between the lugs. C is how far that tongue steps in from the shoulder. Here A is 25mm (0.98"), B is 20mm (0.79") and C is 7mm (0.28"), so 2.5mm (0.10") comes off each corner. At 7mm, this notch runs deeper than the 3mm example on our order form, which is exactly why the numbers came from the customer's own measurements rather than a guess from the model name. If your case is unusual, have a jeweler measure it before you order.
The payoff is a strap that fills the case opening the way an original would. A straight strap sized to the lug gap would leave that opening partly empty, a narrow band under a wider case.
The customer asked for blue stingray. Real stingray has a pebble surface with a centered "diamond" cluster of pearl scales, and it is never embossed cowhide. Blue suits a watch built to track the tides.

The rest of the order follows the owner's hardware. The strap is 85/135mm (3.35"/5.31") and tapers to 22mm (0.87") at the buckle end. The customer is fitting the original Krieger buckle and spring bars, which is what we recommend for spring bars whenever the originals fit: they were made for that case.

FAQ
How do I measure for a corner-notched strap for Krieger Tidal Chronoscope?
Measure three things at the case: the full width where the strap end meets the case (A), the width of the gap between the lugs where the tongue sits (B), and how far the tongue needs to step in from the shoulder (C). Half-millimeters are fine. Widths can differ between references, so measure your own watch, or have a jeweler do it, rather than copying the numbers above.
Is the stingray real or embossed?
Real. The pebble surface and the centered cluster of pearl scales are the hide itself. We never use embossed cowhide for our stingray watch straps.
