Center-Notched Strap for a Seiko Coutura
A 45mm case is wide enough that the strap has to get past the case sides before it ever reaches the wrist. That is the problem this order solved. The owner of a Seiko Coutura sent us three measurements and asked for a center-notched strap in black sharkskin, cut so the leather steps in where the case sits and runs full width everywhere else.

Why these choices
Center-notched means the step is cut into the middle of the strap end rather than the two corners. It suits cases where the middle of the lug area is occupied and the outer edges are clear. Corner-notched, the pattern most people know from the Cartier Santos, does the opposite. Getting that choice wrong wastes a hide, which is why we cut to customer numbers rather than to a template.
Sharkskin is the toughest of the exotics we stock, with a dense tooth-textured grain that holds its shape. On a 45 mm case that matters twice over: the strap is carrying more watch than usual, and a soft leather would roll at the notch where the cut has already taken material away. Black keeps the whole thing quiet, so the shaping reads as fit rather than decoration.
The length went out at 75/125 mm, which is the standard split. Nothing in the order asked for extra reach, so we left it alone. If your wrist is past 8.5 in, say so on the order and we cut longer.

How do I measure for a center-notched strap for a Seiko Coutura?
