Style of strap

We need this to size the bund pad correctly. Measure the watch case from edge to edge (not including the crown).

Stitching style
Stitch color

We do our best to match the thread to your leather, but exact matches aren't always possible — natural variations in leather and thread dye lots mean the result may be very close, not 100% identical.

Custom strap length selected — please tell us the exact length here (e.g. 110/175 mm = 110mm keeper end / 175mm tail end).

Common questions

Fit & compatibility

Will an open-ended strap fit my watch with fixed spring bars or wire lugs?

Yes — that is exactly what an open-ended strap is for. Each end wraps around the fixed bar or wire lug and locks with a small flat screw, so it fits watches where the bars do not come out: vintage and trench watches, military fixed-bar pieces, and modern tool watches like the Tudor Pelagos FXD. Send us a photo if you are unsure and we will confirm before you order.

How does an open-ended strap attach — do I need to remove my spring bars?

No removal needed. Each strap end wraps the existing bar and is secured with a small flat screw — no glue and no bent prongs. If the lug width matches, you can move the strap between watches: unscrew, move, re-screw.

Do you make open-ended straps for the Tudor Pelagos FXD or CWC divers?

Yes. The FXD fixed 22mm bars and CWC fixed-bar lugs are exactly what this strap is built for, and any leather in our range can be made FXD-ready. It is a flatter, dressier leather alternative to the pass-through NATO these watches ship on.

Sizing, options & ordering

What lug width and length can you make?

Any lug width from 8mm to 32mm, including odd sizes like 14mm, 17mm and 19mm, and any length for wrists from 5" to 12". Use the Lug Width Finder and Bespoke Fit Calculator, or leave your measurements in the order notes.

Can I choose the leather, buckle and stitching?

Yes — every open-ended strap is made to order in your choice of leather, buckle (or punched to fit your own), and stitching style and colour. Add anything specific in the Notes field.

How long does it take, and what is your return policy?

Each strap is cut and finished by hand in about 2–3 weeks, then shipped worldwide from Canada (priority shipping is faster). Because straps are made to your spec we cannot refund for preference, but any manufacturing defect is remade — just contact us.

Which watches need an open-ended strap?

  • Modern fixed-bar tool watches — Tudor Pelagos FXD and FXD GMT, CWC G10 and CWC divers, Bertucci field watches, Smiths PRS-40, Vario trench models.
  • Military watches — WWII "Dirty Dozen" pieces and later military issues built with solid bars.
  • Vintage and trench watches — early wristwatches with fixed wire lugs: pilot's watches, trench watches and cocktail watches, often in odd widths like 14mm and 17mm.
  • Pocket-watch conversions — heirloom pocket watches converted to wristwatches with soldered wire lugs.

A leather alternative to NATO straps

Most fixed-bar watches ship on a pass-through fabric strap, which stacks under the case and sits high on the wrist. An open-ended leather strap works like a regular two-piece strap: it lays flatter, keeps the watch centred, and dresses the same watch up for a shirt cuff.
