Frequently asked questions
Is this real stingray leather?
Yes. Every strap is cut from genuine stingray hide. The fine pebble pattern and centered diamond of larger scales are natural to the leather; we don't emboss or print these patterns onto cowhide.
How comfortable is stingray on the wrist?
Stingray starts stiffer than cowhide because the scales are calcified, not cellular leather. Expect a 1-2 week break-in where it molds to your wrist with daily wear — after that it sits comfortably and holds its shape better than softer leathers (no early-stretch sag). If you want maximum out-of-the-box softness, choose Buttero or Swift instead.
What watches pair best with stingray?
Sport divers, tool watches, and bold-dial sport pieces. Stingray's pebble texture and pearly sheen hold their own next to thick cases (Panerai 44mm+, Tudor Black Bay, Seiko SKX/5KX). Lizard or Buttero suit dress watches better.
How do I care for a stingray leather strap?
Wipe with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth after wear. Avoid prolonged water exposure and harsh cleaners. Stingray's scales are calcified and harder than typical leather — they resist scratching well but can chip if struck. Daily-wear durability is among the highest of any leather we offer.
What lug widths and strap lengths are available?
Any lug width from 8mm to 30mm in 1mm increments, and lengths from short (5.0" wrist) through extra-long (12" wrist). Use the Lug Width Finder if you don't know your watch's lug width, and the Bespoke Fit Calculator to dial in length.
