Need help measuring? Open the sizing guide
1. Find your watch's lug width
The lug width is the gap between the two lugs where the strap attaches. On this watch it follows the case size — Small / SolarBeat Small = 16mm, Large / SolarBeat Large = 19mm, XL = 23mm. Pick your size above and the width is handled for you.
If your watch isn't listed: measure the gap with a millimetre ruler, or note the existing strap's width near the spring bars. Round to the nearest whole millimetre.
2. Measure your wrist
Wrap a piece of string, ribbon, or paper strip around your wrist where the watch sits. Mark where the end overlaps. Lay it flat and measure the marked length in cm or inches.
Tip: Measure with a comfortable fit — not too tight. The strap will sit at this length, with the buckle on the underside of your wrist.
3. Find your strap length
Just pick the wrist-size range you measured in step 2 from the Wrist size dropdown — we cut the exact strap length for your wrist and your chosen case size. If you know a precise length you want instead, choose Custom and put it in the Notes.
Need a custom length not on the list? Pick the closest size and write your exact requirement in the Notes field at the bottom of the configurator — we cut to spec. The buckle has multiple holes, so being within a few millimeters of the calculator's recommendation is fine.
Measure where you actually wear the watch. Know your exact length? Pick “Custom” and drop it in the Notes.
Upload a clear photo of your buckle (top + side view if possible). JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 20 MB.
The width of the strap end that slides into your buckle or clasp. We’ve pre-selected the usual width for your Tank Must — if you’re reusing your own hardware, measure its inside width and pick that, or just upload the photo below and we’ll confirm it for you.
Length note: This single-fold clasp may require us to modify the strap length to suit the clasp mechanism — we'll set it for a correct fit.
Style: Bund — already included with this leather choice, no style surcharge.
We need this to size the bund pad correctly. Measure the watch case from edge to edge (not including the crown).
We do our best to match the thread to your leather, but exact matches aren't always possible — natural variations in leather and thread dye lots mean the result may be very close, not 100% identical.
Custom strap length selected — please tell us the exact length here (e.g. 110/175 mm = 110mm keeper end / 175mm tail end).

Common questions
Your Cartier clasp
Will this strap work with my original Cartier deployant (folding) clasp?
Yes — that's exactly what we build for. Choose “I’ll use my own buckle/clasp” in the configurator and we cut both strap ends to seat in your original clasp, so you keep the buckle you already own.
Most aftermarket straps ship with a pin buckle that orphans your Cartier deployant. We don't. For listed Tank Must references we already know the buckle/clasp width — nothing to measure. For an unlisted or vintage reference, we'll ask you for the buckle/clasp width (with a simple measuring guide) before production.
What if I don't have the Cartier deployant, or want a spare?
We can source a Cartier-style deployant clasp for you — pick one of the Cartier-style deployant options in the configurator (Gold, Stainless steel, or Rose gold, +$30). You can also choose a standard pin buckle from our buckle options if you prefer a traditional buckle-and-tang strap.
Reference & fit
How do I know which Tank Must reference and lug width I have?
Tank Must sizes and lug widths: Small / SolarBeat Small — 16mm; Large / SolarBeat Large — 19mm; XL — 23mm. Just pick your size in the configurator. Vintage or unlisted Tank Must references vary — email a side-profile photo and we'll confirm the lug width before you order.
Does the strap use Cartier's quick-release system?
Modern Tank Must (2021+) has a discreet quick-release groove cut into the case lug for tool-less strap swaps — our straps ship with quick-release spring bars compatible with it. Vintage Tank Must uses standard spring bars and a normal spring-bar-tool install. Tell us your reference when ordering, or send a photo and we'll fit the correct bars.
I have a vintage or unlisted Cartier reference — how do I order?
Email us a side-profile photo of your watch showing the lug-to-case joint, plus the case-back if the reference is printed, and add any notes in the configurator. If you're using your own buckle or clasp, enter the buckle/clasp width in the configurator field and upload a photo of it. We confirm fitment within one business day before cutting.
My wrist is larger or smaller than standard — can you accommodate?
Yes. Every strap is cut to your measurement — standard lengths fit 5.0" to 8.5" wrists at no extra charge, and extra-long options reach 12" wrists for a small surcharge. Long-wrist Tank Must owners are a size Cartier's own straps don't offer. Use our Bespoke Fit Calculator, or enter your wrist measurement in the notes and we'll size it for you.
