Frequently asked questions
Is this real crocodile leather?
Yes. Every strap is made from genuine crocodile or alligator hide — never embossed cowhide or a printed substitute. The scale pattern, give, and wear behaviour come from the actual reptile leather.
What's the difference between crocodile and alligator leather?
In the watch-strap industry they're treated as synonyms. Both belong to the same family of reptile hides, share the distinctive scale pattern, and behave the same way on the wrist. Strict zoological distinction matters less than scale size and finish, both of which we configure per strap.
How do I care for a crocodile leather watch strap?
Wipe it down with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth after wear. Avoid prolonged water exposure, harsh cleaners, and direct sunlight when stored. The leather is hardy enough for everyday wear; it's not designed for swimming or showering.
Does crocodile leather develop a patina over time?
Yes. Worn regularly, the surface softens, the natural oils from your skin deepen the colour, and the leather takes on a hand-rubbed sheen specific to how you wear it. Most owners report the strap looking better at six months than the day it arrived.
What lug widths and strap lengths are available?
Any lug width from 8mm to 30mm in 1mm increments, and lengths from short (5.0" wrist) through extra-long (12" wrist). Use the Lug Width Finder if you don't know your watch's lug width, and the Bespoke Fit Calculator to dial in the strap length.
