Why these choices

A shining brown skin was specified for a reason: under artificial light it reflects a little more than a matte hide, which flatters a rose-gold case at dinner without ever looking wet or plasticky. The result is a strap that photographs and wears like part of the watch rather than an accessory bolted on afterward, which is the whole point of commissioning one at this level.
