Seikos come from the factory on rubber, silicone, or jubilee bracelets that mostly weren’t designed for daily wear. The fix is leather — but the fix breaks down fast when you discover your watch’s lug width isn’t one a retailer stocks. Modern Grand Seiko Heritage models use 19mm. Snowflake is 20mm. Hi-Beat and Spring Drive Sport are 21mm. Older Seiko 5 references go down to 18 or 19mm. King Seiko sits at 19–20mm. We cut every strap to your watch’s exact lug width — anywhere from 8mm to 30mm — at no upcharge over standard sizes.

Grand Seiko references use 19mm, 20mm, or 21mm lug widths depending on the line — sizes most strap retailers don’t carry. Pick a leather that fits the dial and the dressiness of the case.

Pairings by reference:

  • Snowflake (SBGA011, SBGA211) — 20mm: blue crocodile to echo the dial texture, or black shell cordovan for contrast
  • Shunbun / SBGA413 — 21mm: navy crocodile or warm brown Buttero for the textured dial
  • Heritage Mechanical / Elegance (SBGM221, SBGM235) — 19mm: warm brown Barenia for the cream and silver dials, navy crocodile for the blue dial
  • Hi-Beat (SBGJ217, SBGH273) — 19mm or 21mm: dark brown lizard, or shell cordovan in black for the dressier refs
  • Spring Drive GMT (SBGE271 older 19mm, SBGE285 Sport 21mm): blue crocodile (matches the bezel insert), or dark brown lizard
  • Quartz GMT (SBGN005, SBGN007) — 19mm: black crocodile, or burgundy lizard for the panda dials
  • Vintage King Seiko / 1960s–70s Grand Seiko: Barenia, vegetable-tanned Buttero, or shell cordovan — leathers that develop patina alongside the watch

    Seiko strap FAQ

What lug width does the Seiko SKX use?

All Seiko SKX models — SKX007, SKX009, SKX013, SKX173, SKX175 — use a 22mm lug width. Pick 22mm on any of our product pages and we’ll cut the strap to fit.

Why do Grand Seiko references need 19mm, 20mm, or 21mm?

Grand Seiko uses tighter case proportions than most Seiko sport watches. The Heritage Mechanical and Quartz families (SBGM, SBGN) sit at 19mm. Spring Drive Snowflake (SBGA011, SBGA211) is 20mm. Hi-Beat and Spring Drive Sport refs are 21mm. None of these are widths most strap retailers stock because the per-width volume is too low. We make all of them as standard with no upcharge.

Do you make straps for vintage Seiko 5 and 6309?

Yes. Vintage Seiko 5 (7s26 movement) and 6309 dive watch references typically need 18mm or 19mm widths. We cut every strap from 8mm to 30mm. Our Lug Width Finder covers most vintage Seiko references; if yours isn’t there, send us a photo with measurements and we’ll quote it.

Quick-release vs regular spring bars on my Seiko?

Modern Seiko 5 Sports SRPD and SRPE references have quick-release lug holes — the strap can be swapped without tools. The older SKX, Prospex Turtle, and most Presage models use standard through-hole bars. Our configurator lets you pick either; if you select Quick Release and your watch turns out not to support it, we’ll fit standard bars instead so the strap still installs.

Can I reuse my Seiko’s OEM buckle on a VGreen strap?

Yes — and you don’t need to ship the buckle to us. On the configurator, pick the buckle-width option that matches your OEM Seiko buckle and select “use your own buckle”. Email us a photo of the buckle so we can confirm compatibility, then we make the strap to fit. When it arrives, you install your OEM buckle on the new strap yourself. Keeps the Seiko branding on the watch.

What length do I need for my wrist?

Use our Bespoke Fit Calculator on any product page — enter your wrist circumference (in inches or cm) and it recommends the right strap length variant. We offer everything from extra-short (5.5–6\
