Frequently asked questions
Is this real ostrich leather?
Yes. Every strap is cut from genuine ostrich hide. The raised round bumps (quill follicles) are natural to the leather. Cheaper alternatives emboss this pattern onto calfskin to imitate the look — we don't.
What's the polka-dot texture on an ostrich strap?
Those are quill follicles, where the ostrich's feathers were attached. Each follicle is a small raised bump. The "crown" section of the hide (densely populated with quills) is the most prized; that's the part we cut for our ostrich straps.
What watches pair best with ostrich?
Versatile leather that works across classic and vintage-styled pieces. Rolex Datejust, Hamilton Ventura, Longines Master, IWC Pilot, Cartier Tank all pair well. The quill texture is decorative without being aggressive — looks more refined than crocodile, less formal than smooth calfskin.
How do I care for an ostrich leather strap?
Wipe with a dry or barely-damp soft cloth after wear. Avoid prolonged water exposure and harsh cleaners. Ostrich is naturally durable and supple — daily wear softens it further over months of use, similar to fine cowhide.
What lug widths and strap lengths are available?
Any lug width from 8mm to 30mm in 1mm increments, and lengths from short (5.0" wrist) through extra-long (12" wrist). Use the Lug Width Finder if you don't know your watch's lug width, and the Bespoke Fit Calculator to dial in length.
