Many Omega Constellation references are 17mm

The easy ones are easy: most Speedmaster Moonwatches are 20mm, and so is the Seamaster Diver 300M. Then there's the Constellation — many references, including the Manhattan, take 17mm, a width almost nobody stocks, so owners force an 18mm in or let a 16mm float in the gap. (Some Constellations are 16mm or 18mm — check your reference.) We cut 17mm as a standard width with no upcharge, along with anything from 8mm to 30mm.

Railmaster 19mm–21mm
Constellation (incl. Manhattan) most commonly 17mm (some 16mm or 18mm)

Vintage Genève / Constellation with an integrated bracelet Needs a notched strap — no conventional lug

Omega moves widths between generations, so these are the common cases rather than a rule. Check yours in the Lug Width Finder, which covers 1,000+ Omega references — or send us the reference number and we'll confirm before we cut.

Custom fit and leather options

Fit options off-the-shelf straps can't give you:

  • Constellation at 17mm — cut to the exact width, so the strap fills the lugs instead of leaving an 18mm forced in or a 16mm rattling.
  • Vintage Genève and Constellation with integrated bracelets — the bracelet was part of the case and no leather version was ever sold. Our corner-notched straps are cut to the full width of the case with a narrower tongue notched into the lug gap, so the strap fills the opening the way the original did.
  • Planet Ocean and Diver 300M on larger wrists — sized with our extra-long straps, up to 125/185mm for wrists to 12".
  • Ladies De Ville and Aqua Terra — narrow widths from 13mm, short lengths from 55/100mm for wrists down to 5.0".
  • Reuse your Omega buckle — pick “use your own buckle,” send a photo, and we punch the strap to fit it.

Getting the length right: measure your best-fitting strap — the short (buckle) side and long (tail) side, each from the lug — and enter those numbers, or use our Bespoke Fit Calculator.

Which leather suits your Omega

Diver and tool (Seamaster, Planet Ocean, Railmaster) — stingray, shark, ostrich leg or crocodile, usually 20–22mm.

Speedmaster and MoonwatchBarenia, Buttero or Badalassi wax at 20mm: veg-tanned leathers that patina with wear, the way a chronograph strap should.

Dress and vintage (Constellation, De Ville, Museum) — shell cordovan, crocodile, lizard or Epsom, usually 13–20mm, cut thin where a vintage case needs the clearance.

A note on water: leather straps are made for everyday dry wear. If you swim or dive in your Omega, switch to rubber or fabric and keep the leather for dry land.

Omega strap FAQ

What lug width is the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch? 20mm across nearly all 42mm Moonwatch references. Note the Speedmaster Reduced is 18mm — same family name, different width, and a common ordering mistake.

What about the Constellation? Most references, including the Manhattan, are 17mm — an unusual size that most makers skip. Some are 16mm or 18mm, so check your reference. We cut any of them as a standard width with no upcharge.

Seamaster Diver 300M or Planet Ocean? The Diver 300M is 20mm on most references. The Planet Ocean varies with case size — commonly 22mm, but 20mm and 21mm references exist. Check yours in the Lug Width Finder.

My vintage Omega has an integrated bracelet — can you make a strap? Yes. Genève and Constellation cases where the bracelet was built into the case have no conventional lug. We cut a corner-notched strap to the width of the case opening, with a tongue notched to drop into the gap. Send a photo and we'll measure it with you.
