Shell Cordovan Strap for the Omega Planet Ocean
Share
This one is a repeat order with a strict brief: everything black, including the thread. The watch is an Omega Planet Ocean — 39mm by the owner's own spec — and the build is a shell cordovan strap for the Omega Planet Ocean: black shell, black stitching, and a 16mm buckle end sized to the clasp the owner intends to run.
The build
| Watch | Omega Planet Ocean (39mm, owner's spec) |

Why these choices

Shell cordovan is an equine leather — ours comes from Shinki Hikaku in Himeji, Japan — and it is denser than cowhide and almost non-creasing. On a strap, that density is the whole argument: the flex points that wrinkle and crack on ordinary leather stay smooth on shell, which is why it earns a place on a watch that gets worn hard rather than displayed.
The all-black instruction came straight from the order notes. Dropping the contrast stitch removes the one decorative element a strap normally carries, and on a dive watch the result is deliberate: case, dial, and strap read as one piece. The owner is a repeat customer who sized this order against a previous VGreen strap — and specified that the 16mm end will take the watch's original Omega folding clasp, with the shipped gold classic buckle as the alternative hardware.
Quick-release spring bars finish it: the strap comes off without tools, which matters on a watch that probably alternates with its factory bracelet or rubber.

“The Cordovan leather is a game changer! Never seen a strap of leather that elevates a timepiece like this type.”

Frequently asked questions
Do you make a shell cordovan strap for the Omega Planet Ocean?
Yes — this build is 75/125mm with a 16mm buckle end, in black shell with black stitching. Give us your model and measurements in the configurator and the same pattern cuts to any Planet Ocean size.
Can the strap take my original Omega clasp?
If your folding clasp matches the strap's buckle-end width — 16mm on this build — it can be fitted in place of the shipped buckle; a clasp swap is a spring-bar job. There is also a use-my-own-buckle option at the order stage if you want the strap to ship without hardware.
