Shortening the strap is less about the total and more about where the holes fall: with a short tail side, the center hole sits close to the middle of the underside of the wrist, so the buckle does not ride up toward the case and the keeper actually holds the tip. Small details for a small wrist. The order asked for small pin holes and a slim stainless buckle at 16mm. A slim buckle keeps the profile low under the wrist, and smaller holes look tidier on a short strap where every hole is in view. The tip is tapered to slide through the keeper cleanly. The order also specified curved quick-release spring bars, which we fitted as requested; quick release means the strap swaps without a tool.
