Notched Barenia Strap for a TAG Heuer S/el

The TAG Heuer S/el Professional was built around an integrated bracelet, so when the bracelet wears out or the owner wants leather, a standard strap simply won't fit: the case has no normal lug gap. This build solves that with a center-notched barenia strap, cut to the case on a 1999 S/el (ref CG-1120).

Integrated-bracelet watches like the S/el are the classic case for a notched strap. Instead of ending straight, the strap end is cut with a notch that follows the case opening so the leather seats where the bracelet's first link used to sit. This is a center-notched pattern, measured as X (overall width), Y (notch depth) and Z (the tongue that enters the case), here 20, 10 and 6mm.

Because those numbers have to match the case exactly, we cut to the customer's measurements and recommend having them taken by a jeweler. A millimeter off on a notch shows, and on the gap-free S/el there is no room to hide it.

Barenia is a hot-stuffed, oiled leather with an equestrian background and natural water resistance. It ages into a soft patina, which suits the S/el's sport-and-dress character: a watch that gets worn rather than shelved.
