Why these choices

Ostrich leg is the scaled leg skin rather than the round body hide, so there are no quill bumps here. What you get instead is a fine natural grain that runs the length of the strap and catches light in a way plain calf never does. On a two-tone or steel Sky-Dweller, that grain reads as texture rather than decoration, which is what most Rolex owners are after when they leave the bracelet behind.

The light brown works because the Sky-Dweller's annual-calendar dial is already busy. A dark strap swallows the case; a mid-brown ostrich leg gives the watch somewhere to sit without competing with the ring command bezel and the month apertures.
