Open-Ended Strap for Garmin Fenix Pro 47mm

A Garmin Fenix is built as a tool, and the bands that suit it are built the same way: rubber, nylon, titanium links. This order from Colorado asked for something else, a leather open-ended strap that dresses the Fenix Pro 47mm up without changing how it attaches. The customer had worn an open-ended leather strap on a previous Garmin and wanted the same construction again.

Why these choices

Open-ended construction. Our open-ended straps exist for watches with fixed spring bars, where a standard strap with a closed loop at the lug end cannot be threaded through. The lug end is left open so the leather wraps around the bar instead of needing the bar to slide through it. The customer had already lived with this construction on an earlier Garmin, in a different width, and wrote that it "really dressed the watch up nicely." That is the job here: keep the Fenix's attachment point and change what sits on the wrist.

Barenia for a watch that gets used. Barenia is a hot-stuffed leather with equestrian origins, and it is traditionally water-resistant. On a watch that goes hiking or to the gym, that matters more than surface polish. It is still leather, so we would not swim in it, but it is a better match for an outdoor watch than a dress calfskin. Orange side stitching and a V-square tip. Orange stitching picks up the sport side of the Fenix so the strap does not look borrowed from a dress watch. The V-square tip is a slightly sharper finish than a round tip and gives the strap a tidier point where it passes through the keepers. The customer asked for a titanium buckle if we had one and was happy with stainless steel otherwise; the order specifies the classic stainless buckle at 20mm, a simple pin buckle that is easy to swap later if a titanium one turns up.

Will an open-ended strap fit my Garmin Fenix?
It depends on how the bars on your model attach. An open-ended strap for Garmin Fenix watches works when the strap has to wrap around the bar rather than slide over a removable spring bar.
