Notched Strap for the Seiko Astron Nexter
Share
The Seiko Astron Nexter SBXY067 ships on an integrated bracelet that tapers hard from the case, so a standard strap won't fit: there is no normal lug gap and a straight strap end would leave a visible step. This build is a corner-notched strap cut to the case in black Alran goat leather, tapered to follow the bracelet's line.

Why these choices
Corner-notched is the pattern for integrated cases like the Astron, the same approach used on a Cartier Santos. The strap end is cut with notches at the corners (measured A, B and C) so it tucks into the case opening where the bracelet's end link sat. We cut to the customer's figures: 24mm wide, 11mm deep, with a 3.5mm corner.
The customer asked us to copy the bracelet's aggressive taper, dropping from 24mm at the case to 18mm at the clasp. Matching that line is what makes a strap look like it belongs on the watch rather than added to it, so we kept the same rate of taper through the strap.
Black Alran goat is a fine-grained, supple leather, softer than cowhide, with a tight grain that holds a clean edge. On a modern sport-dress Seiko it reads sharp without the bulk a padded calf strap would add.
FAQ
Can you make a notched strap for the Seiko Astron? Yes. We build corner-notched straps to your case measurements (A/B/C) and can match the bracelet's taper, as we did here from 24mm to 18mm.
Can a notched strap take a deployant clasp? Yes. A deployant can be fitted to a notched strap; tell us when you order and we'll size the tip end for it.
