Lime green crocodile watch strap for Orient Star GMT, full strap

Lime Green Crocodile Strap for Orient Star GMT

The Orient Star GMT (reference WZ0081DJ) was a limited edition with a gray dial, and it has been out of production long enough that factory straps are gone. This owner replaced theirs with a lime green crocodile strap for Orient Star GMT, cut to 80/130 mm and built to run on their own deployant buckle.

Why these choices

A gray dial is a blank canvas, and lime green crocodile is the kind of color that makes a discontinued watch feel personal again. It is a bold pick, but the matching side stitching and a padded, tapered build keep it looking finished rather than loud.

Since the original strap is no longer available, sizing came straight from the owner: 80/130 mm to fit their wrist with room for a folding clasp. They asked for the strap to work with their own deployant, so we built it without a buckle and without a tongue notch, leaving the tail clean for the clasp. Regular spring bars keep it secure.

Matching the stitch to the leather was a deliberate call — on a color this loud, contrast thread would tip the strap into costume, while tonal stitching lets the crocodile grain do the talking. The padding gives the band enough body to sit evenly under a GMT’s slightly taller case. For a discontinued watch, a made-to-order strap is often the only way back to a proper fit, and it means the replacement can be more interesting than the original. Crocodile suits a standout color because it softens and develops a hand-rubbed patina as it is worn.

It is a reminder that a discontinued watch does not have to wear a compromise — with the measurements in hand, the right strap can be the most personal thing about it, and a color like this turns a hard-to-shop-for reference into a talking point.

Questions Orient Star owners ask

Can you make a lime green crocodile strap for Orient Star GMT owners? Yes — because the model is discontinued, we build from your measurements: send a wrist size or length, your lug width, and your buckle or clasp. Built in 3–5 days; allow 2–3 weeks to delivery.

Can you set it up for my deployant clasp? Yes. We cut the strap without a tongue notch and size the buckle end to your clasp, and it ships without a buckle when you are using your own.
