Extra-Long 26mm Maya Strap for Zodiac Desert Master

The Zodiac Desert Master is a wide watch with a wide lug, and 26mm is where the stock strap market thins out to almost nothing. Add a wrist that needs 90/145mm and the options go to zero. This order came from California with a note asking us to look up how the Desert Master's band attaches before cutting anything — which is the right instinct, because on a 26mm lug the attachment method decides the build.

Why these choices

From the bench: at 26mm we only stock quick-release bars, so that is what went in. That is worth stating plainly rather than burying, because it is the one spec on this order that was decided by the parts bin and not by preference. In practice it works in the customer's favour — quick release on a 26mm strap means changing it without a tool on a watch whose lugs are wide enough to make tool slips expensive.

Maya is a dyed-through matte Italian veg-tan, which is the reason it suits a tool watch rather than fighting it. Because the colour goes through the hide rather than sitting on the surface, the edges and any scuffs stay whisky-coloured instead of flashing a pale core. It also varies from hide to hide, so no two whisky Maya straps land in exactly the same place on the brown scale. The heavy steel buckle was specified to match the case mass; a slim buckle on a 26mm strap looks undersized from any angle.

What length is an extra-long strap for a Zodiac Desert Master?
This one was cut 90/145mm, 235mm of leather before the buckle. VGreen builds extra-long for wrists from 8.5 in to 12 in (216mm to 305mm). Send the wrist measurement and we set the short and long sides from it rather than rounding to a stock size.

Do you make 26mm straps?
