Why these choices

115/170mm is the longest end of what we cut. Our extra-long watch straps are built for wrists from 8.5 to 12 inches and this split sits at the top of that band, so both halves were extended rather than stretching the tail alone. On a strap this long the keepers matter as much as the holes, because there is a lot of tail to control once the buckle is closed.

The racing style is a set of perforations through the strap with contrast stitching, and on a 170mm tail the perforation run has to be spaced to the actual length rather than repeated from a standard pattern. Yellow double-side stitching against red crocodile is a deliberate contrast rather than a matching thread, which is the usual choice on a racing build and the reason the style exists.

A 22mm buckle width fits the case, and a classic stainless buckle keeps the hardware quiet against a dial that is already doing a lot. Crocodile softens with wear and picks up a hand-rubbed patina, which on a bright red hide deepens the color rather than fading it. This one shipped to an order from Wales.
